Recent reports have claimed that Konami might consider outsourcing their IPs to development studios outside of the publisher.

The reports follow the rumours that The Medium, Layers of Fear and Blair Witch developer Bloober Team

might be working on one of the rumoured Silent Hill reboots.

The reports come via VGC, who claim that licenses such as Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania might be outsourced for other development studios to use.  However VGC also claims that any new game that has been outsourced is at least two years away from being released.

The reports from VGC do contradict claims that Polish developer Bloober Team might be working on a Silent Hill game because VGC state that Konami will outsource the Silent Hill license to a “prominent Japanese developer”.

Though it is worth keeping in mind that many of the previous reports have claimed that more than one Silent Hill reboot is in the works, so it is still possible that both Bloober Team and a Japanese developer might work on the license.

Obviously all rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt, but we’d love to hear your thoughts on the possibility of Konami outsourcing their licenses across our social media channels.
