During the Capcom Showcase, the Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition was announced.

The star of the edition was arguably the reveal of the Shadows of Rose DLC. Set 16 after the events of RE Village, Rose returns to the old haunting grounds. However, things are vastly different. Time and space seem to have its own will, almost like Rose is trapped in an alternative reality.

During the reveal we see locations from the base game, however, Rose seems to be led by mysterious messages by a character simply known as Michael. Also, it seems like the Duke is a villain. Could the rumours of the Duke being a Lord of the village be true?

According to the press release: “Rose Winters, the daughter of main protagonist Ethan, as she struggles with her terrifying powers. You’ll explore and survive a warped and mysterious realm inside the consciousness of the Megamycete in search of a cure.

Thankfully, Rose has superpowers to combat this new threat. However, who is this mysterious clone of herself that she has encountered? Only time will tell. Shadows of Rose will also be played in a third-person perspective.

The Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition will also include new Mercenaries maps inspired by the various Houses and locations of Village. We will also get new playable characters including Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu! Oh, and the entire campaign of RE Village will be playable in a third-person perspective.

If you already own RE Village, you can buy all the content as the Winter’s Expansion. However, there was no mention of which content will be free DLC? After all, free DLC was promised last year. Hopefully, details will be clarified soon.

Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition and all of its content will launch on October 28th, along with the launch of the multiplayer spin-off, Re:Verse.
