Rockstar Games reportedly cancelled Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster
Rockstar Games has reportedly cancelled the rumoured Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster.
Reports were recently making the rounds that Rockstar had shelved plans to remaster the original RDR as well as GTA 4.
Unfortunately, it seems that the Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster has now joined the other Rockstar Games remasters in being shelved. The latest reports are once again courtesy of Tez2, who previously leaked rumours of RDR and GTA 4 remasters being shelved.
When asked if the RDR2 remaster had also been cancelled, Tez2 replied: “I’ve heard about [Red Dead Redemption 2 current-gen versions] a long time ago. As well as [Rockstar’s] plan to come up with an Enhanced Rockstar Editor. All cancelled/halted now.”
Per Tez2, it doesn’t look like Rockstar Games wants to ship out a new enhanced version of #RedDeadRedemption2 for next-gen consoles anytime soon.

If these reports are true, it’s another blow for fans of Red Dead Redemption. Recently, Rockstar Games also confirmed that Red Dead Online would no longer benefit from major content updates.
At this stage, I’d be happy with a new-gen patch for RDR2. Even when being played on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the game is capped to 30fps. So a 60fps patch would have been nice. Oh well, it is what it is.
