The two-headed monster known as ‘Johnny Burton’(Johnny Depp & Tim Burton) have done it.  They have made Alice in Wonderland a financial success.  It may be iffy with critics, but with audiences across the U.S., Alice in Wonderland is spectacular.  Proof of that is the $41 million Alice in Wonderland made on opening day Friday, according to Hitfix, smashing the 3-D opening day record set by Shrek The Third ($38.4 million) back in May of 2007.  Many analysts are predicting a $100+ million 3-day total which would completely destroy Warner Bros.’ 300 March record of $71 million.

Alice in Wonderland reportedly cost around $200 million to make.  The movie features Mia Wasikowska as Alice and has an all-star cast which includes Johnny Depp,  Helena Bonhma Carter, Anne Hathaway, Alan Rickman, Crispin Glover, and Michael Sheen.
