Today at Sony’s Gamescom conference Ubisoft have just announced a partnership with Sony Pictures to create a Watch Dogs film. Continuing with their ambition to create movies out of their intellectual properties including ” Assassin’s Creed“, “Splinter Cell”, “Far Cry” and “Crazy Rabbids” which will be a live action film, Watch Dogs will be made into a film.

President of Sony Pictures subsidiary Columbia Pictures Hannah Minghella said in a statement that Watch Dogs‘ gameplay and themes are “perfect” for the big-screen. She also added that the franchise has “tremendous potential” as a motion picture

Director, cast and date are still yet to be announced. Although Ubisoft put a poll up to find out who the fans want to be the lead roll and Tom Cruise won it by 37%, while Robert Downey Jr  had 20% of the vote, Fight Club lead Edward Norton came up in third place with 19% and Paul walker from the Fast and Furious series had 11% of the votes.
