There seems to be two kinds of people out there in the film world: People who hated Cloverfield, or people who liked it. Personally, I’m a huge fan. I like monster movies and I think conspiracies are pretty interesting too, and The Cloverfield universe was a perfect combination! Unlike most of the people who complained about it, I followed all of the viral sites like 1-18-08, Slusho, and Tagruato. Finally seeing the film only confirmed some wonders I had, but sparked even more of a curiosity about the Colverfield tale.

Well today just got a little more interesting!

A mysterious photo was taken on March 4th that may in fact be a teaser for Cloverfield

It may seem like nothing special, to the average person. But if you look closely at the Statue of Liberty, you see workers on her left shoulder and her head. This is very relevant because in the first film, she was decapitated! Is this a sign that New York will be “re-building” in the new film?!

While not much is known about this photo, rumors are already flying about. Some say that this poster is representing the original building of the Statue of Liberty. A commenter on the original IGN story said the following:

Nope… I don’t think this is Cloverfield related at all. This is most likely depicting the original construction of the Statue of Liberty, considering the bronze is new-looking. Moreover, the flame hasn’t yet been added to the torch. Finally, the light shining through in the background gives the image a hopeful, positive feeling… not very Cloverfield-ish.
Not sure what it is, but it isn’t Cloverfield 2

I suppose this makes sense Waaaaiiit a minute! That’s exactly what J.J. Abrams would WANT me to think! HA! Nice try J.J. but I won’t fall for your reverse psychology!
