Amy Hennig

Boy did it get a lot of people upset when Amy Hennig was apparently let go from Naughty Dog. A lot of people were crying foul play, while Naughty Dog clearly stated that her decision to leave was mutual and that there was no hard feelings involved. Hard feelings or not, events seem to have turned out for the better, as EA has recruited her as Star Wars’ Creative Director over at Visceral Studios.

According to Visceral’s Vice President, Steve Papoutsis:

“Over the last few weeks, Amy and I have spent a lot of time talking about what her first project would be, there are a lot of different directions we could have gone, but I could sense that what really excited her about this opportunity (because let’s face it, we weren’t the only ones knocking at her door) was Star Wars. Amy’s a huge fan. We happen to be making a Star Wars game. Just thinking about the possibilities made both of us even more excited about having her join the team.”

Now, I think Visceral might be trying to bring back Star Wars 1313 in some way, as the game was really anticipated amongst the gaming community. Also, seeing how it reminded us of Uncharted, Amy might give it that feel if that happens, and that would be pretty badass. Well, whatever it is that they are working on, Amy Hennig is an amazing writer and it should be interesting to see what she does with the Star Wars universe.
