For those who were excited for the spiritual successor to the Panzer Dragoon series and downloaded Crimson Dragon on your Xbox One console then you may be in for a surprise next time you try to play the game.

A 4GB content update has been made available giving players a new way to experience the game. This may have already downloaded if you’ve set your console to be on standby, but otherwise you’ll need to download this patch before you can play. Don’t worry though, it’s free and free is always good, right?

Well it certainly sounds pretty good. Included in the update is a new multiplayer mode, letting you join up with a friend over Xbox Live and take on the on-rails shooter together. This could be interesting and really change the way you play the levels. Mixing both of your dragons skills together and working out the best combination of weapons to deal optimal damage.

In addition to the multiplayer a new difficulty mode has been added. The new ‘Insane’ mode is designed to test your skills and reactions as enemies are far tougher and plentiful. This update comes just a short while after Dead Rising 3 also released a 13GB update for their title. Crimson Dragons original download size 6.9GB, so this new 4GB update is a huge patch in comparison. It’ll be interesting to see if these patches continue to be so large in the future.

Crimson Dragon is available now to download on Xbox One and as an added bonus, it is included now in the Deal of The Week currently priced at £11.99/$14.99.
