Yanim Studios have today launched a Kickstarter for their brand-new action-adventure-combat-puzzle game Red Goddess.

The latest announcement from Yanim Studios comes after Red Goddess has recently been Greenlit by the Steam community and the developers are now looking to bring the experience to the PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Linux, Mac and, of course PC.

In Red Goddess, you play as a troubled deity named Divine, who feels confused and haunted by her past. Something mysterious and unknown is tearing her apart from the inside out, destroying her mind, her soul and Divine herself! The journey begins when Divine decides to right this wrong by exploring her own subconscious, where she will discover a planet within her own mind made up of mountains, forests, caves and perils unknown. Discovering who she is, who she was and what she will become is the quest, but soon realised is that there’s more to this adventure than meets the eye.

Creative Director, Yanick Puig, spoke of his excitement for the project:

“We’re super excited by Red Goddess, we’re going to combine puzzler with combat and platformer, in a Metroidvania style to give the player real variation. Using Unreal 4, we’re able to offer incredible visuals and complex environments whilst being able to bring the game to PC, PS4, PS Vita and Wii U. We’re going to introduce some stretch goals: for example additional localisation into Spanish, French and German, additional chapters and scenarios, and of course, many more power. We’d also really like to produce a Red Goddess comic.”

Shoot, punch or turn invisible with 3 playable characters that each has their own unique skills and abilities which bring about different gameplay strategies. Brawling action meet puzzle platform, combats are turned into puzzles. You can stun your enemies and enter their minds. Taking over their minds is like walking through a door, you will then gain access to new secret chambers. The planet you are on is a character itself and is a foe which you will have to defeat eventually.

It certainly seems that Yanim Studios are very confident in their game providing widespread appeal as they look to release the title on various platforms. This may prove to be an added incentive to PS4 and Wii U owners, however, as the lack of games may tempt them to back Red Goddess even more so. Although the Kickstarter began only yesterday, the funds have so far reached nearly $12k out of their $30,000 target. With the backing being so strong at this early stage, Red Goddess could be a game worth looking out for.
