For a while now we’ve known about a new Rainbow Six game set in New York and battling home grown terror cells, but Ubisoft have now ofiicially revealed Rainbow Six: Patriots.

While how the game plays hasn’t been revealed it can be expected to play like its Vegas predecessors. What has been revealed however is that the game will jump between multiple perspectives of the storyline, putting players in control of people other than team Rainbow as they fight to protect America from “The True Patriots”, a group who believe the government is corrupted beyond repair and will stop at nothing to ‘reclaim’ their country.  A dynamic storyline and ethical decisions are also promised, giving the player choices on how to tackle a situation that will ultimately effect the overall arc.

Along with the single player many “innovative” co-op and multiplayer modes have been promised, though details have yet to surface on what these are. I’m a fan of the Rainbow Six franchise so I have an interest anyway, but the promise of a dynamic and potentially emotional single player campaign has me almost excited, fingers crossed they can pull it all off.

No release date more specific than 2013 as of yet but more details are promised in the Christmas issue of the Official Xbox Magazine.
