Mr Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted that the the Fox is depending on first-time players for the 3DS remake to reborn the series.

During a revealing Iwata Asks discussion, Miyamoto said: “I told Dylan-san (Dylan Cuthbert, Star Fox co-creator) that if this game wasn’t interesting, I couldn’t make any more Star Fox games! I said, “If first-time players like this game, Star Fox will be reborn!” That’s how much I’m counting on this one game!

“So if there’s anyone out there who wants to look at the future, please play this! (laughs)”

It’s been 4 years since we last had a brand new Star Fox title,Star Fox Command to be exact so we hope the 3DS remake is successful.

So… Will you be picking it up?

This is the scariest thing I’ve seen in a long time. 🙁 It makes me want to buy 5 copies of the game but I don’t have that kind of cash on me. I REALLY hope StarFox64 3DS sells, maybe they’ll remake the SNES and release StarFox 2. Here’s to the future of StarFox.
