When Rise of the Tomb Raider was confirmed as a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, to say it caused quite a stir is an understatement as it angered PS4 gamers throughout the world.  Since its release last year, followed by a PC release early this year, PS4 gamers have been waiting patiently for its release date to be announced.

While Square Enix are yet to officially announce that highly anticipated date as of yet, the Italian GameStop may have revealed its release date before any official announcement.  This of course could just be a placeholder for pre-orders, but at this time, the retailer had set the PS4 release date of October 11th 2016.  Judging by the box art and title, it seems to be the standard edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider.  Many (including myself), were hoping that the PS4 release would be some kind of Game of the Year Edition, which would include its season pass content.

It is also worth nothing that it appears that the listing has since been removed from the website.  Which could mean one of two things, either the date was incorrect and Square Enix asked for the listing to be removed or the date was correct and, Square Enix asked for the listing to be removed.

Hopefully all will be officially confirmed soon, perhaps even by Gamescom which kicks-off next month.  We’ll keep you posted.
