American noise rock band HEALTH will be composing the soundtrack and score for Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3.

Rockstar Games have chosen HEALTH to create the music fo Max Payne 3, a heavy responsibility but Rockstar Games are confident is the right decision:

“We’re really excited to be working with HEALTH on this project,” says Ivan Pavlovich, Soundtrack Supervisor for Rockstar Games. “They’ve brought a distinct energy and atmosphere to the game that perfectly fits Max’s dark story.”

If you are unfamiliar about the rock band HEALTH, here’s a short description from Wikipedia: “Health (usually stylized as HEALTH) is an American noise rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band’s 2007 release with Crystal Castles charted at position nine in the UK indie singles chart.” You can read more about Health here.

HEALTH explained why they were interested in composing for Max Payne 3:

“Video games are redefining entertainment and whether people like it or not, they are becoming as culturally relevant as films,” said the band. “We feel that Rockstar’s projects have an undeniably raw and tasteful aesthetic. It’s vitally important to us that we be involved in things we respect artistically. Max Payne 3 has a complex story that unfolds mercilessly and we are excited to be a part of it.”

On the second official Max Payne 3 trailer, you can hear HEALTH’s work on the score, so here it is to remind yourselves
