Valve and Nexon announce Counter-Strike Online 2 for Asian markets

In 2007 Valve and Nexon partnered to bring a tailored version of Counter-Strike to Asian markets. Today the companies announced Counter-Strike Online 2. The game will take advantage of Valve’s Source engine, a microtransaction system, new environments, weapons and a host of other upgrades.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a joint development project between Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve is set to release early this year. Those attending PAX Prime and the Eurogamer Expo should be able to get hands on experience before its release.

Nexon Korea will be developing CS: Online 2 and publishing it in Japan, Korea, China, and various other areas in Southeast Asia. You can read the full press release here.
