Update: According to Kotaku, the Operation Eagle DLC has now been delayed until January 21st 2014, it was originally planned for release on December 24th.  Microsoft say that “they’re pushing back the date in order to spend a few more weeks polishing and playtesting.”  So there you have it, we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can get our digital mitts on the Operation Eagle DLC, but at least its for the good of the game.

Original Story: According to Polygon, Capcom has announced details for the first piece of story DLC for the Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3, Operation Eagle.  Operation Eagle will see you take control of the Spec Ops Commander named Adam Kane and he is on a mission to hunt down and capture the missing president of the United States.  This will be the first of four story based DLC packs to be released for Dead Rising 3.

It is believed that Operation Eagle will release on December 24th.  At the moment pricing has only be given in US dollars, which is $9.99, but what we do know is that all four story DLC packs will be included in the Dead Rising 3 season pass at no extra cost.  The following story based DLC packs will be Fallen Angel, Chaos Rising and The Last Agent, all of which will release in 2014.

Operation Eagle will also introduce five new weapons, one new combo weapon, a new vehicle and an all new outfit, as well as the customary extra Gamerscore points.  As an added bonus you will be able to carry over experience points into the main game.

It may be of interest to Xbox One owners currently on the fence on whether to buy Dead Rising 3, that a playable demo is available now on the Xbox One Marketplace.  The demo will be 20 minutes long and can only be played twice per Gamertag.
