#E32019 Gears of War 5 Out This September, New Modes and Collector’s Edition

Of course, Gears of War 5 was at the E3 Microsoft conference and we not only learned of a solid release date, but some modes were also revealed as well as a Collector’s Edition. It was also revealed that a pre-order bonus will include a Terminator, oh and we got to see that Funko Pop mobile game…yay.  Sadly though, we never got to see some proper campaign gameplay.

One of the main new modes highlighted was Escape.  This mode will involve three players working together as a suicide squad to take out enemy hives within.  It seems to be a twist on the popular horde mode and I can’t wait to see more.  Escape will also include its very own map building feature, which you can then share among the Gears community.

 

They’ll also be a Tech Test coming in July that will allow players to test-out a new co-op multiplayer mode called Arcade.  You can take part in the Tech Test by either pre-ordering GoW5 or by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.

Speaking of pre-orders, by pre-ordering GoW5 you’ll also be granted with the Terminator Dark Fate Character Pack or again by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.  This pack will include both Sarah Connor and the T-800 to be used in the multiplayer modes, which is quite cool as far as pre-order bonuses go.

 

At launch there will also of course be a Collector’s Edition for GoW5 called the Jack Drone CE.  It will include an Ultimate Edition copy of the game (includes a steelbook and loads of DLC), a collector’s booklet, an exclusive in-game Jack Skin and a fully functioning, flying Jack Drone with display stand and controller.  As well as a lanyard, art print schematic and an embroidered patch.  At the moment the information that I have is that it’s exclusive to GameStop in the US and costs $269.99.  But I’ll update this article if I find details of it being available in the UK.

Gears of War 5 will be available on September 10^th this year for Xbox One and Windows PC or it will be available three days early for those that pick-up the Ultimate or Collector’s Edition.
