Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog have announced that Uncharted 4 will be getting its co-op survival mode next month.  Survival, which is also playable solo, allows you to team up with 2 other friends to take on up to 50 waves of enemies, Naughty Dogs Game Designer; Vinit Agarwal said that “If you played Co-Op Arena from Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, you’re going to feel right at home in Survival.

Survival will feature 10 maps across the 50 waves, as well as new enemy types, bosses, a progression system, upgrades, Relic Challenges and loadouts.  It is said that every 10 waves, will result in a boss battle, which includes the Pirate Warlords (as seen in the trailer below).  To help keep you on your toes, Survival will also involve having to complete certain objectives, depending on the map in which you are playing within a set time limit.  They also say that it will feature on the fly modifiers which could include only having to use a certain weapon or headshot and melee attacks only doing damage to the enemy.

And if you finish Survival on Hard mode, you will unlock its Crushing difficulty.  You can of course also earn in-game cash by playing Survival, as you would do in Uncharted 4’s other multiplayer modes.  Keeping up with Naughty Dog’s free map and mode policy, Survival will be added to your game for free via an update.

You can check out the new trailer for Survival below, as well as a three new screenshots.  More details are set to be revealed (hopefully with a set release date) at the PlayStation Experience early next month.
