Gears of War 4 Collector’s Edition and Season Pass announced
Microsoft Studios and The Coalition has announced an awesome collector’s edition for Gears of War 4, but it’s a pricey one. They have also announced an Ultimate Edition of the game, which includes the season pass and a steelbook.
The Gears of War 4 Collector’s Edition is priced at £169.99 with the standard game and £199.99 with the Ultimate Edition version of the game. It is available at Game in the UK and Amazon in the US (priced at $249.99). The Collector’s Edition includes several items such as a JD Fenix COG Bike Premium Statue designed by Triforce, as well as the games season pass. The Gears of War 4 Collector’s Edition includes:
- Includes the Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition steelbook with game
- Season Pass.
- JD Fenix on COG Bike Premium Statue (19 Inches in Length, 11 inches in Height).
- Frag Grenade Keychain (6 Inches in Length).
- Exclusive Lithograph.
- In Game Bonus Content: Includes 3 Gears Crates.
- Premium Packaging Box.
Available at retail to accompany the standard edition of Gears of War 4, will be the Ultimate Edition. The standard edition of the game has an RRP of £49.99, though you can get it much cheaper than that if you shop about. The Ultimate Edition includes the game, the season pass and comes with a steelbook case, and has an RRP of £79.99.
The season pass will include an exclusive Vintage VIP Pack that features a Vintage JD Fenix (presumably in the classic GOW outfit) and two Vintage weapon skins. It will also include 24 additional multiplayer maps (it will be interesting to see how many are included in the base game), with two maps releasing per month for a year.
The owner of the season pass will then be able to use their maps privately on dedicated servers, where their friends can be invited and experience the maps for themselves, even if they do not own the season pass. However, you will be able to play the maps within the season pass regardless, but it will be on a 10 map rotation basis and should you purchase the season pass, you’ll have access to all 24 maps whenever you choose. But if like me, I never tend to choose a specific map anyway when playing online, unless its a voting process after a match has finished. Yet the question remains, will you be picking up the season pass, which almost costs as much as the main game itself?
Owners of the season pass will also be granted access to Developer Playlists, which allow you early access to new maps, modes and features to be tested prior to the contents launch date. You will also be gifted with six Gear Packs which unlocks extra character and weapon skins, emblems, equipment and boosts.
However, no matter which edition of Gears of War 4 you pre-order, you will be gifted with the Vintage Del Gear Pack, which includes a Vintage Del character model, an emblem, two Vintage weapon skills and a special Vintage Del bounty to achieve in-game.

Gears of War 4 will release for Xbox One on October 11th.
