Gran Turismo Sport to release this November, gameplay and screenshots released

Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo Sport has been revealed upon the world and it has been announced that it will be heading to PlayStation 4 on November 18th for us in the UK, the 16th across Europe (because again, the UK isn’t classed as European) and the 15th for the US (why we just can’t have worldwide release dates for all games in this day and age is beyond me).

GT Sport will feature 137 premium cars and 19 locations, it will also introduce two new tracks to the series with the Northern Isle Speedway and a new Tokyo street circuit.  It is believed that GT Sport won’t have your standard hatchback type cars and what not, but will instead feature purely cars of the exotic type.  It will also feature a livery editor, which is a first for the series, a feature that has proven popular in the Forza series for many years.

GT Sport will have a heavy focus on the eSports scene with a Sport mode that will introduce scheduled events for gamers to compete for a real-world FIA license.  To move swiftly into the modern era, GT Sport will support PlayStation VR from launch, so get those steering wheels at the ready!

Additionally a host of pre-order bonuses were revealed on the US PlayStation Blog, so naturally these are US based incentives, but hopefully this will also represent the majority of the world also.

Those who pre-order the game will receive early access to a 3-Car Pack, including:

  • Ford Mustang Group B Rally Car
  • Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Group 3
  • Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1

Additional incentives are available through your preferred retail outlets, including:

GameStop

  • 2x Early Access Bonus Cars: Chevrolet Corvette Group 3 & Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3 N24

PlayStation Store

  • GT Themed PS4 Avatars
  • GT Sport Dynamic Theme
  • $500,000 In-Game Credit

Amazon

  • $500,000 In-Game Credit

There will also be several editions available at launch, including a Collector’s Edition, a Steelbook Edition and a Limited Edition.  It seems the Steelbook Edition will have the same DLC as the Limited Edition, but with a Steelbook, obviously.

While DLC details are scarce at this time, we know that the GT Sport Collector’s Edition includes:

  • an exclusive miniature model of the Mercedes-AMG GTS
  • a detailed car-lover’s guide written by the experts at Polyphony Digital themselves.
