Scott Pilgrim Finally Gets Online Multiplayer

The forever righteous brawler, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, was generally well received upon release in 2010 (that’s right). Whilst being praised for his comprehensive aping of classic arcade mechanics and sensibilities, Mr Pilgrim let us down in one key area – no online multiplayer.

The game practically begged for multiple heroes on the screen, but if you were out of friends, controllers or social awareness, you were cursed to slog through solo.

Now, only twenty four months later, revealed via the Xbox Live DLC release schedule, players are being given the reason to return to a pixelated Toronto, armed with a shed-load of awesome (and sometimes a hammer).

Not only will we finally be able to take these antiquated exploits to the interwebs, fan-favourite, Wallace Wells, also joins the ranks as a sixth playable character (if you include the Knives Chau DLC).

It’s hard to rationalise the length of time this has taken, but at least we finally have a compelling reason to re-hit-up this downloadable gem.

The DLC drops August 19th and will set you back a meagre 400 MPS.
