Xbox’s very own Larry Hyrb, a.k.a. Major Nelson, has revealed that the Xbox One will not support external storage upon its release. This information came to light thanks to a question & answer session that he held during his PAX Podcast on Sunday, where he stated that the feature “will not be there at launch because the team is working on some other things, but it definitely is on the list.”

This is another slight setback for the Xbox One, albeit a very minor one considering the 500GB HDD that users will have at their disposal, yet should be remedied within time. Given the USB 3.0 ports on the console that will be inviting usage, I shouldn’t see it taking too long after launch before an update is dispatched.

The Xbox One is due to be released in 13 countries this November. Stay tuned for a confirmed launch date.
