Halo- The Master Chief Collection-0

Update: The update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that is aimed to fix the matchmaking issues was originally scheduled to release tomorrow, but now it has been delayed until the end of this week. It was written on Halo Waypoint that:

This week’s content update, which was originally scheduled for release this Wednesday, 11/19, will now be releasing later this week to allow for additional fixes, as well as the completion of the testing and certification process.

This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including Matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more. The full patch notes will be posted later this week, in advance of the content update release.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Of course as soon as we know of a new set date, we’ll update you again right here.

Original Story 17/11/14: It seems nowadays many of my articles are taken up by games plagued with issues at launch, which must be then fixed by the developers at a later date.  One of those games is none other than the highly anticipated Halo: The Master Chief Collection.  Since launch it has been very difficult to get into an online competitive match, which is the main appeal for many gamers picking up this game.  Then if you’re lucky enough to get into a match, even if you’re paired with a friend in your own party chat group, there’s a high chance that the matchmaking system will actually split you up from your friends, putting you in opposing teams, which kind of makes being in a party a pointless process.

Well now courtesy of Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries has announced that the next major patch aimed to fix Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s matchmaking will be arriving this Wednesday.  A series of patches has already been released over the weekend, for which 343 Industries has stated that they’ve improved the matchmaking process by 20%.

Below is the statement released by 343 Industries, detailing Wednesday’s forthcoming patch.

I’d like to provide the latest on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and what the team is working on to address the issues you’re experiencing.

Looking at our data logs, server-side adjustments that we have made over the past 24 hours have shown a 20% increase in server connectivity. However, we are well aware that performance is not where it needs to be. Resolving Matchmaking issues also requires client-side fixes, which require a content update. The client side update, which focuses on Matchmaking performance, non-matchmaking bugs, and a variety of title-specific issues, has been completed and is going through testing and certification. We are currently targeting a release of Wednesday 11/19 for this content update.

We know the current Matchmaking experience is frustrating, and we continue to have various teams working 24/7 to isolate and resolve the issues to provide the best experience as soon as possible. We are going to continue to optimize the matchmaking experience after next week’s content update, and make further adjustments as needed. We thank you for your continued patience.
