Before Silent Hills was killed by Konami, other than P.T being a more downright terrifying experience then just about any full retail game (despite being just a demo), the biggest appeal to Silent Hills was the dream team partnership of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro.  So since Silent Hills was exterminated, many fans have been clutching to straws in the hope that the band will still get together, well for Kojima and del Toro at least.

Thankfully there is some good news on the horizon following an interview with IGN when del Toro said, “I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be (Silent Hills).

We were in the planning stages, and it’s a shame it’s not going to happen,” del Toro added. “We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear (Solid) was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.

So what will their project be, it’s obviously not going to be Silent Hills, by name at least, because of copy right reasons, but perhaps we will still get a horror title influenced by the legend that is P.T?  Only Kojima and del Toro will know the answer to that one, but as soon as we know more, we’ll update you right away.
