Detroit Become Human Playable Demo out Now as Game Goes Gold

Quantic Dream has announced that Detroit: Become Human has gone Gold, which means that its finished its main stage of development, before its ready to ship exclusively for PlayStation 4 on May 25th.  The news was announced on the PlayStation Blog by Quantic Dream’s co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere, following four years of development.

To mark Detroit: Become Human going Gold, it has also been announced that a playable demo of the game is available right now via the PlayStation Store, which allows you to playthrough the very first scene of the game called “Hostage”.

Also quite oddly, it was also revealed that the Amazon Echo will have a Detroit: Become Human feature entitled “CyberLife”.  I suppose it’s quite cool, as the Echo will help you make one of the many decisions you must make during the game and even gives you an added insight to investigations.  However, considering that Detroit: Become Human is all about an android uprising against humans, can we really trust that little b****** of an Echo?

The CyberLife Echo app will also be useable during the demo, as long as you have an Amazon Echo of course.  Below are just some of the commands that will be available:

  • Tell Me About – Get more details as you examine every piece of the crime scene.
Try saying: “Alexa, ask CyberLife to tell me about the fish?”
  • What’s Their Story? – Uncover the truth behind any character you find within the demo.
Try saying: “Alexa, ask CyberLife to tell me about the Phillips Family?”
  • Alter the Course of History – Using the Flowchart at the end of the demo, use the skill to discover alternate endings.
Try saying: “Alexa, ask CyberLife why Connor failed to reach Daniel in time?”

Detroit: Become Human will release for PlayStation 4 on May 25th.
