The spiritual king of under-delivering, Peter Molyneux, revealed his new ‘experiment’, Curiosity, at this year’s Rezzed. Now, Eurogamer reports a firm release date: 22nd August 2012. 22 Cans’ experience will be available on IOS, Android and PC simultaneously.

Heralded as an examination into the lengths we go to for an unknown prize, Curiosity features a single destructible cube that the collective gaming community can gradually pick away at, eventually revealing a surprise for the lucky individual who reaches the centre first. Molyneux describes the prize as “life-changingly important” – potentially worth the effort then. Whatever it is, I’m sure it won’t surpass the forest growing in real time I was promised for Fable.

DLC packages will be offered to help speed you along, the most supreme option costing a not inconsiderable £50,000.

It’s all for science though guys.
