Nintendo have announced, via ONM, that Rayman Legends will be coming to UK shores on February 28th, with worldwide release dates surely not far behind.

Rayman Legends was heading towards being the poster boy of the Wii U until it missed the launch window. Having seen some of what the Wii U currently has on offer, there’s still a good chance that Rayman Legends will be the true showcase of the Wii U’s skillset, using the Gamepad to interact in ways that are far more engaging than you might have expected.

When I first came to play Rayman Legends with the Gamepad at Play Expo, I expected this side of the game would be pretty boring. However, thanks to the fidelity of the pad’s motion and touch functions, helping out Rayman by guiding him through mazes, cutting down obstacles, creating jump paths and stunning enemies feels engaging enough to warrant being played in that way for a good few hours. Of course, though, the option is also there to play as Rayman and pull off the same flowing platforming feats as he did in the spectacular Rayman Origins. Either way, this is likely to be the Wii U’s first killer app.
