Players with early access to Grand Theft Auto Online have confirmed to Eurogamer that micro-transactions are a feature of the highly anticipated multiplayer mode. As we reported yesterday, 4 currency cards graphics were discovered in Rockstars own webpage code.

Of course with a little under a week to go changes could be made and although they’re still to be officially confirmed, the UK prices are reported to be for these amounts:

  • § $100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99
  • § $200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49
  • § $500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99
  • § $1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49

As well as confirming the appearance of micro-transactions and their cost, gameplay elements have also been leaked.

GTA Online uses the same world as GTA V’s single player world. However the cost of living in each varies. Cars and properties are much cheaper in the Online, with weapons and car mods much higher priced to regain a balance of some sort as well as have certain items locked until you level up your character. This level-lock will help with the worry many players had with the micro-transactions promoting an easy boosting mechanic although the chance to steal other players purchased currency is still up for debate.

GTA Online goes live October 1st.
