It seems that the arrival of survival horror classic Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is on its way to PS Plus very soon.

Earlier this week, Sony announced the next batch of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers on Tuesday, 16 January 2024. In total, there were 14 games announced which include the Resident Evil 2 remake as well as games across multiple generations.

Well, there were 15 games announced before it was swiftly removed and that is the aforementioned Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare which was originally released in 2001 for PC, PS1, PS4, SEGA Dreamcast and Game Boy Color. The survival horror title was included in the PS Plus announcement tweet as well as a PlayStation Access YouTube video before those in charge attempted to scrub it off the internet.

However, thanks to a Reddit user, that evidence has been documented for us all to see. Of course, it’s not official confirmation that Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare will arrive on PS Plus in February, but judging by recent actions, it’s looking very likely. If this title comes to PS Plus, if at any point you had already bought the game via the PS3 or PSP/Vita digital stores, you’ll be able to download it with or without a subscription at no extra cost.

Speaking of Alone in the Dark, the series that has been an OG of the survival horror genre since its inception in 1992 is getting a remake. However, the Alone in the Dark remake has suffered multiple delays with one being quite recent.

The Alone in the Dark remake will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 20 March 2024.
