An ex-costume designer for motion capture studio House of Moves has stated that Resident Evil 7 has been in development since RE6‘s release in 2012. Karen Brakenridge revealed on her linkedIn page (which has since been removed) that she worked as a costume designer for Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 for three months from November 2012 to January 2013.  Luckily courtesy of AGB, we have a screenshot of her linkedIn page before the details were removed, you can checkout that image by clicking HERE.

RE6 was released last year in October therefore seeming that as soon as it came out everyone back at the studio began work on number 7 straight away. After RE6 fans were full of disappointment as the game failed to satisfy the original eerie and survival horror cravings that everyone had, instead the RE franchise seemed to be going down a bog standard action shooter route. Luckily Michael Pattison who worked for Capcom for three years in marketing did say that the next step for the Resident Evil games will be going back to just being downright scary, he had previously said that “there was a cry out for us to focus our attention on survival horror, rather than be too many things to all people. You’ll find where we go next will likely be more targeted at our core fanbase.”

Apart from all that has been said online, Capcom have currently said they cannot make any comment about a seventh game in the series.
