Rumour: Resident Evil 7 Will Feature Alice From The Movies & Release Date At E3?

If rumours are to be believed the next instalment of the long running Resident Evil gaming series will introduce Alice; the main character from the movies into Resident Evil 7. At this time it’s unclear just how she’ll be introduced, but if you know of the movies, then you should know that she’s an all action kind of woman.  Which perhaps might not bode well for fans wanting the series to go back to its true survival horror routes, but that’s assuming of course that she’ll be a playable.

Personally I’d much prefer Alice to be an NPC in the main campaign or perhaps as a playable character in a mercenary type mode.  I like many, just really hope that Resident Evil will go back to its roots and reclaim its survival horror crown, especially with Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within on the way.

It is also rumoured that Albert Wesker might be making a return, though going by the ending of Resident Evil 5 and what D.C. Douglas (the voice of Albert Wesker) has said on his official Facebook page, I’m not sure how much foundation that rumour has.  D. C. Douglas said that in regards to a potential Albert Wesker return “Is this true? I haven’t been called. Are they referring to Japanese actor for‪#‎Wesker? Should I book more cons in 2015?! Lol!”

Regardless of the direction that Resident Evil 7 will be going, we might not have long to find out.  At this year’s E3 it is expected that a release date will be made and any gameplay footage being shown will be displayed on a Playstation 4 console.  This does not mean that Resident Evil 7 will be a PS4 exclusive of course, but as this news comes via reports in the Japanese publication Sankei Shinbum, Japan often typically mentions the Playstation consoles when it comes to gaming media.
