Rumour: Wii 2 Specs released?

One day ahead of Nintendo’s E3 Press Conference and the inevitable announcement of the successor to the Wii, some tech specs have apparently been leaked by an anonymous tipster and user on NeoGaf forums.

The post on the forum thread is split into three categories (Specs, Controller and Games) but what we’re mainly interested in is how powerful the system is. The Wii 2 will possibly be running on an IBM triple-core CPU, with 3.6GHz per core, an AMD R700 graphics chipset and 1-1.5GB of RAM.
It is rumoured that it will also be possible for Nintendo Wii titles to be run at 1080p on the console.

If this is confirmed at E3 by Nintendo tomorrow, Microsoft and Sony have got some serious work to do!
