The Last of Us 3 rumours claim game is in development
The Last of Us Part III rumours are once again making the rounds. It has been widely speculated that the third instalment of the Naughty Dog series is already in development.
However, an insider claims that production has been ramped up with motion capture set to begin later this year. This would also imply that a story has in some part been written and judging by the tweet below, Ellie will once again be a playable character with one other.
The latest news comes via Twitter profile ViewerAnon who claims: “Look, it’s early, story details are tweaked and everything is potentially up in the air to be changed, but I assure you I’ve heard Ellie is at least as important in LAST OF US PART III as she was in PART II.”
It’s also worth considering that back on 26 May, Naughty Dog postponed the standalone The Last of Us multiplayer game as it required more development time. Not that it’s ever had a release date.
What’s more, the studio also announced that it is working on a new single-player IP. That IP could of course be a new Uncharted game, but with all this speculation, The Last of Us Part III would perhaps be the safest bet at this stage.
Hopefully, Naughty Dog will reveal all in the coming months in relation to its new IP as well as the development of the seemingly troubled multiplayer game. As they say, watch this space.
