Renegade Kid, the developer of Mutant Mudds has announced its latest project, Moon Chronicles, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The game is a remake of Moon, an atmospheric first-person shooter made for the Nintendo DS back in 2009.

Revealed on IGN earlier today, the game will have an episodic structure. The first season, split into four episodes, will be the remake of the original game, whereas future seasons will continue the story.

Below are details of each episode:

  • Episode 1: $8.99 (contains chapters 1 – 4 + 6 VR Missions: ~4 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 2 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 5 – 8: ~2 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 3 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 9 – 12: ~2 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 4 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 13 – 16: ~2 hours of gameplay).

The first season has been entirely remade for the 3DS, taking advantage of its 3D screen, running at a smooth 60fps in both 2D and 3D, updated textures, geometry and supports the Circle Pad Pro too. Moon Chronicles is set for release this spring. Quite surprisingly, this is the 3DS’ first first-person-shooter, so it will be interesting to see how it’s received on the eShop. Good luck to everyone at Renegade Kid!
