Coming from its launch from last week, Splatoon has released its first batch of free content, with more content appearing often over the coming months. The new map, Port Mackerel, consists of container boxes, straight pathways and moving tractors scattered over the field, adding more dimensions to play.

Along with this is the release of a new mode, Splat Zone, where teams must cover in ink and hold a certain area for as long as possible. King-of-the-Hill with ink, basically.

And finally the new rapid-fire N-Zap ’85, a homage to the ol’ light gun, the NES Zapper. Great for covering lots of ground in goop, but not so easy to take down enemies with. On a side note, Ranked Matches have also been released, where greater a risk means greater rewards. And vice-versa if you lose.
