Sumthing Else Music Works, which is an impressive record label for the distribution and licensing of video game music, has revealed today that it has partnered with Konami to release the original soundtracks for the critically acclaimed action-adventure video game series, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

There will be two versions up for grab from Sumthing Else exclusively, The Ultimate Edition Soundtrack and the The Director’s Cut Soundtrack. The Ultimate Edition is the main soundtrack, which is now available for pre-order from Sumthing Else Music Works’ website and The Director’s Cut is the extended version, which will have “twenty” previously unreleased tracks from the game. The physical and digital editions are expected to launch simultaneously on the 29th of October.

Furthermore, it was also revealed that the soundtrack to Mirror of Fate will also be digitally available on the 29th of October with a physical release to launch in November, followed by the soundtrack to Lords of Shadow II.

If you love videogame music, then I highly recommend listening to the soundtrack from Lords of Shadow as the composer, Oscar Araujo has done such a brilliant job with the orchestration and overall feel of the themes. They are not only exciting and triumphant, but also sad and beautiful. Just listen to a sample below to get what I am saying.

Now this track is the perfect description of how melodic this soundtrack can be, this track starts off on a very sad and slow note, but quickly becomes hopeful with the help of lovely vocals and strings that sound absolutely magnificent when paired with the bright brass. The tracks in this game are just as beautiful and exciting, definitely memorable enough to stay right close to your heart. So please, do give the soundtrack a shot, and pre-order now!
