Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Announced With Amiibo Card Functionality

A new title in the Animal Crossing series has been announced. Building on the already adorable tone of the series, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer lets you decorate the houses of the villagers who inhabit your town. Your interior decorating skills will be put to the test as you are tasked with decorating according to the hobbies of specific villagers.

A nerdy villager may enjoy books or computer games, whilst an artsy one may want their house filled with paintings and whatnot. This should provide additional depth and variety to the addictive formula the series is so renown for.

Nintendo will be releasing Amiibo Cards alongside the game which can be scanned via the New 3DS or 3DS XL. Alternatively, owners of the older models can purchase an NFC Reader/Writer which is also due to release later this year. Nintendo have said in the past they aim to re-release discontinued amiibo in card format, so this could very well be the beginning of this trend.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and its amiibo counterparts will be released in North America, Europe and Japan later this year.
