Batman: Return to Arkham officially announced…at last!
Finally, after months of pretty solid speculation, one of gaming’s recent worst kept secrets is finally out of the bag, as Batman: Return to Arkham has now been officially announced. Return to Arkham will feature both remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Not only will they be in crisp 1080p visuals, but the will have upgraded character models and environments, lighting effects and shaders, and they will both be utilising the Unreal Engine 4, a first for the series. And judging by the gameplay trailer and screenshots, both games look quite stunning in comparison to their last-gen counterparts.
Both games will also come with all previously released DLC and the remasters will be handled by Virtuos, who are known for the recent remasters of the Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls Collection and Final Fantasy X, so Return to Arkham is certainly in safe hands. Sadly (or which way you look at it), Return to Arkham does not include Batman: Arkham Origins and this collection will not be coming to PC it seems.
Batman: Return to Arkham has a retail RRP of £39.99 and will release for PS4 and Xbox One on July 29th.
