Control Ultimate Edition is Now Available on Nintendo Switch! Yes Seriously!

In an announcement like an RKO out of nowhere, Control Ultimate Edition is now available for the Nintendo Switch.

The news was announced via a mini Nintendo Direct showcase with Control Ultimate Edition being available via the Nintendo eShop right now.

This won’t be a direct download however, because the game would have to be seriously dumbed down to even come close to being playable on the Nintendo Switch.  Not to mention the download size would be huge and would likely surpass the consoles system storage capacity.

 

Instead Control Ultimate Edition will be available for £34.99 with the Unlimited Access Pass which will allow you to stream a cloud version of the game anywhere with good internet access.

505 Games and Remedy Entertainment say that this streamed version will offer an Enhanced Graphics Mode at 30 frames-per-second with Ray-Tracing enabled or up-to 60 frame-per-seconds with the Enhanced Performance Mode with Ray-Tracing turned-off.

They also state that Control Ultimate Edition will offer a seamless transition between TV and handheld mode.  It also promises fast load-times and cloud-save synchronization to pick-up where you left off.

 

In Japan, they trialled cloud gaming for a while with the likes of Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.  So now with the cloud release of Control as well as Hitman 3, this should be something we’ll see plenty of in the near future.
