#E32019 There’s a Blair Witch Game on the Way and It Looks Quite Good

Quite unexpectedly, a Blair Witch game was announced at the Microsoft E3 conference and it actually looks like it might be quite good.  Personally, as much as I wanted to enjoy the Blair Witch movies, they never hit home with me, but they have still managed to hit cult-like status, well at least with the original movie.

Set in the year 1996, you’ll play as former police officer Ellis and when an investigation regarding the disappearance of a young boy leads him into the Black Hills Forest, located near Burkittsville, Maryland, it soon becomes apparent that this is no mere missing child case and Ellis finds himself lost in an endless nightmare.

The Blair Witch game looks to take some inspiration from the likes of Outlast, though I hope it doesn’t involve nowhere near as much running away and hiding.  It is also developed by Bloober Team, a studio that brought us Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2, so Blair Witch should be in very good hands.

Blair Witch is set to release for PC and Xbox One on August 30th.
