Gears of War 4 trailer looks at the Fenix family legacy
Microsoft Studios and The Coalition has released a new trailer for the forthcoming Gears of War 4. While the trailer does not show any gameplay footage, it showcases our main protagonist JD Fenix, the son of the legendary Marcus Fenix from the original Gears of War games.
Gears of War 4 takes place 25 years after the conclusion of Gears of War 3, and with the trailer being entitled “Tomorrow”, it shows two versions of tomorrow, one that Marcus had envisioned and the tomorrow of reality, in which a new nightmare is truly reborn.
The trailer also features Disturbed’s cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” which certainly captures the horror and dark themes of the original game in the series.
Gears of War 4 will release for Xbox One and Windows 10 on October 11th 2016.
Also for those eager to sample the games multiplayer, the MP beta will kick-off from April 18th for those that own Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The beta will then be open to all those with an active Gold subscription from May 1st, more details on the beta can be found here.
