#RTX2014: Halo 2: Anniversary – Terminal ‘Arbiter’ Trailer, Ascension Map Gameplay Footage

Halo- The Master Chief Collection-0

This weekend is the weekend of the Rooster Teeth Expo and fans of the social multimedia gaming group will know of their rich history with the Halo franchise, especially with their Halo inspired comedy series Red vs. Blue.  Well during their expo, they got the chance to play one of the most popular maps of Halo 2 called Ascension, which will be re-mastered for Halo 2: Anniversary.

Ascension will now have an interactive Energy Shield located in the middle of the map that can be activated via three points on the map.  I can see this feature offering some tactical advantage during heated online battles.  Also the popular map from the original Halo called Coagulation will also be getting a make-over in Halo 2: Anniversary.  You can find three concept art images of Coagulation below the Ascension gameplay footage.

We also learned that the popular vehicle known as Mongoose will make its way into Halo 2: Anniversary, along with the Gungoose, which is basically the Mongoose with guns!  Halo 2: Anniversary will also feature the Assault Rifle, Silenced SMG and the Speed Boost ability.  New and old gametypes will also be introduced into the game namely Ricochet, SWAT Race, Infection and more.  The hidden skulls that were found in Halo 2, will also be included in Anniversary and they will be located in the same place as the originals, along with some new skulls to hunt down.

Last month we learned that the Terminals in Halo 2: Anniversary will tell the back-story of Arbiter, leading up to the events of Halo 5: Guardians (set to release next year).  Similar to how the Terminals in Halo: Combat Anniversary told back story leading up to the release of Halo 4.  So with that in mind, a new Terminal Trailer has been released featuring Arbiter.

Halo 2: Anniversary will be included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection which also includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4.  The collection will also come with Halo: Nightfall, the live-action series, which will introduce a leading character of Halo 5: Guardians.  If that wasn’t enough, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also come with beta access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer (expected to open at the very end of this year).

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will release for the Xbox One on November 11th.
