Last night at The Game Awards, a new trailer for Halo Wars 2 was released, which introduces a new character by the name of Atriox.  The leader of the rebellion known as The Banished, Atriox is a Brute, the only being to ever defy the Covenant and live to tell his tale, and wreck his wrath and havoc against those that oppose him in his quest for complete vengeance and dominance.

Anyone that is the enemy of The Covenant can often be seen as an ally, but not with The Banished, not Atriox.  My enemy’s enemy is not my friend, as Atriox could be our deadliest foe yet!

You can watch the impressive cinematic for Halo Wars 2 below.  Halo Wars 2 will release for Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21st 2017.

However, the Halo Wars goodness does not end there, as yesterday a Halo Wars Definitive Edition was announced.  The Halo Wars Definitive Edition will be a remaster of the 2009 classic and will come with improved visuals and features, new achievements and all previously released DLC.

Those who pre-order the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition (which includes the season pass), will be granted early access to Halo Wars Definitive Edition starting from December 20th.  However, Microsoft has said that codes will be sent out in “waves” from December 20th and may take up to 7-10 days from that date to receive the code.  Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait to much longer after certain parts of the world receives there’s.

At this time, there is no release date for a standalone version for those that do not pre-order the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition; however, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.  You can watch the Halo Wars Definitive Edition trailer below.
