Homefront: The Revolution First Trailer Revealed – Screenshots Released
After the unfortunate incident at THQ, its properties were liquidated and its IPs found its way to different publishers and developers. Homefront was one of them, and Crytek was the one to acquire its rights. Now, after a while, we finally know what Crytek and Deep Silver have planned for this title. An open world action-FPS pretty much, and boy does the premise sound interesting. The sequel is entitled Homefront: Revolution and it will release for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One
The game takes place in a hellish version of Philadelphia, which has become a police state, where surveillance drones and armoured patrols keep her once-proud citizens at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force. To fight against the tyranny, players will have to utilise guerrilla warfare to take back their once proud residence via frantic unscripted firefights and intense sabotage missions, all set in a sprawling, and breath-taking open world, that will react to your actions. Will you face the tyranny and start a revolution or will you die a slave? The choice is yours. The game will release next year and will be showcased at this year’s E3.
Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world first person shooter where you must lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare against a superior military force.
A living, breathing, open world responds to your actions – you and your Resistance Cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and turn Occupation into Revolution, as oppressed civilians take up the fight.
But your enemy has the advantage – superior technology, firepower, heavy armour and air support. You must learn the art of guerrilla warfare – ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception – and fight a running battle through the war-ravaged suburbs of Philadelphia.
