Horizon Zero Dawn gets a release date, new trailer released & collector’s edition announced

Courtesy of the PlayStation Blog, they have announced a release date for the PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn, which is being developed by Killzone creators Guerrilla Games.  Horizon Zero Dawn was scheduled to release at the end of this year (though I doubt anyone really expected that to happen), but now it has a new set date of February 28th in North America, March 1st for the EU and March 3rd in the UK, because again, the UK has a separate date to Europe!  Seriously why is this a thing?

To mark the release date announcement, Sony has released a stunning new gameplay trailer for which shows our protagonist Aloy during her childhood years through to an adult robotic-dinosaur hunting badass.  Interestingly, it also hints that the story will explore the years before the robot beasts roamed planet Earth.

Additionally, an awesome collector’s edition has been announced, that includes a statue of Aloy crafted by Gentle Giant, an Art Book, a Steelbook, a Dynamic PS4 theme and various pieces of DLC (as seen above).  We don’t have details on pricing or retailers as of yet, but we’ll update you here when we know more.  An image of the collector’s edition can be found below, along with the all-new gameplay trailer.
