Latest Upside Down Trailer Arrives
A new trailer for Juan Diego Solanas’ romance-fantasy Upside Down (or, as it seems to prefer, Upside Nmod) has arrived. Starring Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst, Upside Down is a movie with a twist on your run-of-the-mill love story – it’s between two people living on adjacent planets with their own gravitational fields.
From the previews we’ve been shown, Upside Down is a tough one to pin down. With its mind-bending plays on gravity that would even give Super Mario Galaxy a run for its money, it certainly looks to be pulling out all the stops for fans of spectacular visual effects. Allegedly it will also see a 3D release, which should be particularly dazzling with the emphasis on design. However, its story – boy and girl sharing forbidden romance, one upper class and one lower class – is a little more than clichéd and predictable. But hopefully a sci-fi spin can give this age-old premise a new lease of life. This intriguing trailer makes Upside Down certainly one to watch out for.
Upside Down releases March 15th, 2013 in the USA, with no UK release date set as of yet, but studio Lionsgate have acquired UK distribution rights. Watch this space.
