New Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Drops and We See Young John Marston!
The latest trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has dropped and it features none other than a young John Marston, who was of course the protagonist (or antagonist depending on how you acted) from Red Dead Redemption.
The year in Red Dead Redemption 2 is 1899 with the original Red Dead Redemption being set in 1911 and we already know RDR2 is a prequel, so some had hoped that the prequel would feature Mr Marston. If you’re familiar with the story of the original game, then you will know that John was betrayed by Dutch van der Linde who is the leader of an outlaw gang, which after a robbery gone wrong, left John Marston behind, which leads to John’s redemption story in the original game.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the story follows a tale of a robbery gone wrong in the western town of Blackwater and with the federal agents hot on the gangs heels, Dutch, Arthur Morgan and co must rob, steal and fight their way across America in order to survive. However, tensions will surely cause a divide between the gang and trust within the gang will be put to the test.
You can watch the new gameplay trailer below and keep a look out for a young John Marston just after the 1:40 mark. Also, below the trailer, I’ll include a side-by-side image of John Marston that featured in Red Dead Redemption (set in 1911) and young John in 1899, where you can see that his cuts and scares match-up, all but confirming his appearance. So it will be interesting to see the Dutch gang’s side of events.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on October 26th, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
