Playstation Blog Europe have released a brand new trailer for the upcoming continuation of the Sly Cooper series, Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time. The game is being developed by Sanzaru Games, who handled the HD Collection port of the original trilogy, and is due on PS3 and PSVita on March 28th, with Cross-Buy enabled so that buying a physical PS3 copy of the game will snag you a free digital Vita copy of the game. The trailer demonstrates the continuation the 2D hand-drawn animation style for cutscenes within the game, and shows off various gameplay footage.

There is play demonstrated for Sly, Bentley and Murray, as well as some potential for using Sly’s ancestors, instead of just gaining their skills as the game progresses. Sanzaru claim to be making an experience of larger scope in terms of worlds, which should help increase the variety on offer. While Sly’s core gameplay is always the most entertaining part of a Sly game, mini-games involving his friends can be refreshing, and the trailer teases a few of them. It also looks familiar, as a whole, which is a good sign that they aren’t deviating too far from Sucker Punch’s formula. As character platformers become rarer and rarer, I look forward to this one even more.

Check out the trailer below.
