Nintendo NX Revealed as Nintendo Switch
Nintendo have revealed their latest home console which was code-named Nintendo NX. The console is known as the Nintendo Switch and involves the advantage of gaming on the go or gaming whilst at home. Perfect for that travelling gamer or the home console player.
Nintendo Switch sits in a “Nintendo Switch Dock” that it uses to connect to the TV. You can then take the system out of the dock and it will “instantly” transition into a portable mode.
The removable controllers that sit on either side of the Nintendo Switch are called “Joy-Con” controllers. There is also a standard analogue based controller, similar to the Wii U Pro pad.
The Switch will be powered by Nvidia’s custom Tegra processor. Nvidia has confirmed that “the console will be supported by fully custom software, including a revamped physics engine, new libraries, advanced game tools and libraries. Nvidia additionally created new gaming APIs to fully harness this performance.“
It looks like Nintendo is also getting plenty of third-party support with it showcasing in the above trailer such as Skyrim: Definitive Edition, and NBA 2K17, with a new Mario 3D title (that is yet to be announced), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and updated version of Mario Kart 8 Wii U and Splatoon. You can have a look at the image above that shows the already confirmed third-party developers/publishers for the Nintendo Switch.
No price has been announced at time of writing; however the console is due to release March 2017.
