#NintendoSwitch Super Mario Odyssey Is Mario’s Newest Open-World Adventure

 

Nintendo revealed the unannounced Mario title that was shown in their initial announcement back in October of the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo have now confirmed that our beloved plumber will be jumping his way into his never adventure Super Mario Odyssey.

 

“A new Mario game” is a vague label. The core Mario franchise is more like Marvel’s cinematic universe than a continuous and singular series. Just as Marvel releases multiple Iron Man and Thor movies, Nintendo releases new entries in New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Galaxy. Each branch is unique in how it expands or restrains platforming within 2D and 3D spaces.

 

Super Mario Odyssey is scheduled for holiday 2017.  There is no questioning the fact the title looks fantastic and it gave me the same feeling I had when I saw Super Mario 64 revealed  especially seeing Mario jump around a New York like environment.  Sheer joy. The problem is, I think a lot of us were hoping for it to be a launch title, but sadly it won’t be. Let’s hope we receive more information on the title sooner rather than later and for it to launch sooner than later.
