Sony has unveiled the PS4 demo they showed for Infamous: Second Son, which to be absolutely honest, is nothing short of Spectacular. It has everything plus more that a superhero/villian game would need and so much more. I have linked the video for your convenience below the article.

OK, so where to begin with this amazing demo? I guess from the start, which would be a nice place! So, we start with our protagonist, Delsin Rowe who is over-looking a militarized base and of course, since it is an infamous game, we do not respect authority at all, and we decide to go in to ruin their day. The first thing that really dropped my jaw was, how conveniently he moved through the cage door in the beginning using his powers, and with that, taking out the guards in a spectacular fashion. Impressively, you can use this “leap” technique to go through vents for faster travel too! One thing I can definitely say about it is, that it is nicely animated with some really jaw-dropping particle effects that seem to engulf Delsin when he uses his power.

In this gameplay demo, we even go to see some form of destruction. Apparently, some things will be destructible, and like infamous 2, that can be used to your advantage as we saw Delsin dispatch a bunch of guys who were standing on top of a catwalk. However, this feature can fire back when you enemy decides to use this against you as well as evident from the gameplay. Furthermore, it looks like some conduits are actually working for the authorities this time, as we some of them manipulating their surrounding to their advantages, making them much more formidable then your regular foes.

Also, this trailer didn’t just showcase how impressive the game is, but also how powerful the PS4 will be. We saw debris, destruction and other amazing particles flying around during his fight. This was especially impressive during the fight where pieces of newspaper were flying around everywhere due to the damage they took. It really shows that the PS4 will be capable of many jaw-breaking details, that its predecessor wasn’t capable of. I mean, just imagine those huge set-pieces and fights we have come to love from the infamous series, all rendered impressively on the PS4. For example, just look at the last power he uses, to dispatch multiple foes that start converging on his position, lightly put, it was epic.

Overall, it is looking really good for Sony with its impressive exclusives like this and Killzone: Shadow Fall, and if they keep churning them out with the same level of focus and detail during gameplay, they will be selling consoles in no time. Infamous: Second Son comes out in the first quarter of 2014 on the PS4 and focuses on Delsin Rowe, six years after the huge sacrifice by Cole McGrath. So, in the mean time, be sure to check out the impressive gameplay demo below!
